These words of Ralph Waldo Emerson epitomize Rainbows philosophy and the spirit of all its volunteers and supporters. Much of Rainbows influence on the lives of grieving children, teens and adults is never seen or experienced by its volunteers, but they willingly give thousands of hours of their precious time because they believe that their efforts can and do make a difference in the lives of others.

Rainbows Headquarters in Rolling Meadows, Illinois has many volunteers who make our job of reaching out to 32,000 volunteers and over 1.9 million children possible. There are many opportunities to help Rainbows at our Headquarters, National and State Chapter Offices and at the local Rainbows sites worldwide.

AT HEADQUARTERS...

Rainbows Governing Board Member - Assist Rainbows with business expertise and participate with Committee Work. Board meetings take place second Tuesday every other month at Headquarters in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.

Committee Work done in conjunction with the Rainbows Governing Board can help Rainbows in areas of Finance and Administration, Program Development, Marketing and Public Relations, and Board Affairs. Members set their own schedules according to the tasks at hand.

Curriculum Development is ongoing and in need of writers, artists and creative individuals to work with Rainbows staff to enhance curricula already being used and develop new ideas and ventures for Rainbows sites.

Video Production is a great need. Creative people with writing, directing, video-taping, editing and all skills needed to produce videos for training, marketing and to share information about Rainbows.

Fundraising Events and other special Rainbows occasions are always being planned. Many hands and minds make these events successful and great times to remember. Volunteer for our annual Golf Outing or work/run/pledge for our annual RUN for Rainbows event.

Writing Rainbows online newsletter is a task that can be shared via email now. If you are willing to donate your time and talent to write for our newsletters, join this committee that can meet in person, online, by fax, by phone, and even by regular mail by calling Laurie Olbrisch 800-266-3206 or 847-952-1770 - X12.

AT NATIONAL and STATE CHAPTERS...

Rainbows Boards and Committees are active nationally and at the state level in the USA.
